STAIRWELL CARVING

A Raven holding onto the Moon – A whale swimming up a River with a Coyote in its belly by Professor Martin Oliver.

THE RAVEN

The mercurial trickster of Northwest Coast Native lore. Curious and mischievous, often misbehaving but never boring.

THE MOON

The protector and guardian of the earth.

THE WHALE

The whale spirit animal is the earth’s record keeper for all time. As a totem, the whale teaches you about listening to your inner voice, understanding the impact your emotions have on your everyday life, and following your own truth.

SNAKE RIVER

Running water is a symbol of the continuity of life and the on-going flow of time.

COYOTE

Trickster, intelligence, stealth, wisdom and folly, guile and innocence.

COLORS

Black represents life and red represents the spirit world. When combined with the symbols they create a poetic vision of the world and the Jackson Hole valley.
